General Settings
The General tab in E-SignSeal Settings contains workspace-level defaults that apply to all contracts sent from your instance. Only Workspace Admins can view and modify General Settings.

Accessing General Settings
In E-SignSeal, select Settings in the sidebar.
Select the General tab.
Default expiry days
The Default expiry days field sets the number of days the New Contract wizard pre-fills in the Expiry days field when a Sender creates a new contract. Senders can override this value for individual contracts.
Default value: 30 days
Allowed range: 1–365 days
To change the default:
Select the Default expiry days field.
Type the new value.
Select Save.
Guidance on expiry settings
Contract type | Suggested default |
|---|
Standard NDA | 14–30 days |
Enterprise services agreement | 30–60 days |
HR onboarding documents | 7 days |
Urgent compliance sign-offs | 3–5 days |
A shorter default keeps the Contracts list clean and creates urgency for signers. A longer default reduces the frequency of expiry-related follow-up for complex agreements. Choose the value that matches the majority of your contract volume.
Envelope expiry check
E-SignSeal runs a daily expiry check at midnight UTC. The check identifies all in-progress contracts whose expiry date has passed and transitions them to Expired status. Signers with pending links receive an expiry notification automatically.
This check runs automatically — no admin configuration is required.
Re-run onboarding wizard
If you need to redo the initial onboarding (for example, to add newly enabled projects or reassign roles using a guided flow), select Re-run onboarding. This reopens the four-step wizard. Your existing settings are preserved — the wizard shows the current values as defaults.
The General tab also shows read-only app metadata:
App version — the currently installed version of E-SignSeal
Installed by — the Jira user who installed the app
Installed on — the installation date
