Submitting a Weekly Check-In
Most OKRs die in week two. The weekly check-in is the only thing that keeps them alive — so OKR Tracker made it take two minutes. This isn't a status report or a performance review. It's a short, honest ritual that keeps a Key Result moving and your team aligned on where it actually stands.
You submit one check-in per Key Result per week, straight from the OKR Details panel on the Key Result issue (or from the hub). Each one is a point-in-time snapshot — what the number is now, how confident you feel, and what happens next.

Weekly check-in form on a Key Result
## The two-minute ritual
- Open the OKR Details panel → on the Key Result issue (or open it from the hub).
- Enter the Current Metric Value → the number where you are today, e.g. current value 8 of 10 done on a "Ship 10 onboarding emails" KR, or $447K on "Grow MRR from $410K to $512K".
- Set your Confidence Level → Green (on track), Yellow (some risk), or Red (off track). Be honest — Red is a signal, not a failure.
- Write the narrative → Accomplishments (what moved this week), Risks/Blockers (what's in the way), and your Next Week Plan (what you'll do next).
- Submit → the check-in is recorded against this week.
The Check-In Date and Week Number are captured automatically.
What happens on submit
- Progress % auto-calculates → you don't type a percentage. OKR Tracker derives it from your current value against the Key Result's start and target, so the math is consistent across every KR.
- The record is immutable → each check-in is preserved as history and can't be edited after the fact. Made a mistake? Add a new check-in to correct it — the trail of what you knew, and when, stays intact.
- The Objective rollup recalculates → submitting a check-in rolls your new progress up into the parent Objective, so the Objective's progress and confidence reflect reality the moment you hit submit. See Automatic Rollup and Confidence.
Where it goes next
Every check-in you submit is stacked into the Key Result's history and plotted on its trend chart. See Check-In History and Progress Trend to read the story your check-ins tell over time.
